RESEARCH UNIT
The College of Dentistry is dedicated to integrating oral health research into the career paths of DMD program students. Oversight by the Research Committee and Research Ethics Sub-committee ensures ethical standards. The dynamic Research Unit provides support with key sections like Research Services, Education and Promotion, Strategic Planning, and Monitoring. The Dental Research Club fosters a vibrant research culture, offering collaboration and learning opportunities. Cutting-edge facilities, including advanced clinics and tools like Micro CT and 3D printing machines, enhance the research experience. Collaborative opportunities with King Abdullah International Medical Research Centre, other Colleges of Health Sciences, and the Ministry of National Guard for Health Affairs enrich research depth. The Research Program aims to graduate inquisitive dentists, promoting lifelong learning and active research involvement. Initiatives like research summer schools and conferences encourage collaboration. The College of Dentistry, with a steadfast commitment to research and state-of-the-art facilities, stands as a hub for dental innovation and scientific inquiry, providing a transformative journey towards excellence in oral health research.
UNIT GOALS
The goals of the College of Dentistry Research Program are to graduate dentists who are inquisitive, learners for life, and have the foundation to appraise and conduct scientific research and be able to pursue post-graduate training.
UNIT OBJECTIVES
We are committed to encouraging all DMD program students to participate in oral health research and consider dental research as part of their careers and to organize the process of conducting research in the DMD program.
Encourage students to participate in the KAIMRC or other research summer schools.
Encourage faculty and students to participate in local, national, and international research conferences and scientific days.
Enrich the culture of research among faculty and students in the DMD program.
Encourage collaboration between faculty members and students.
Recruit a full-time statistician to support faculty and student research.
Facilitate student research projects within the curriculum by providing high-quality mentoring support.
Induce new faculty and returning scholars into research tracks including research courses.
Foster research productivity in the program.
